Grace has spent years watching the wolves in the woods behind her house. One yellow-eyed wolf—her wolf—watches back. He feels deeply familiar to her, but she doesn't know why.
Sam has lived two lives. As a wolf, he keeps the silent company of the girl he loves. And then, for a short time each year, he is human, never daring to talk to Grace...until now.
For Grace and Sam, love has always been kept at a distance. But once it's spoken, it cannot be denied. Sam must fight to stay human—and Grace must fight to keep him—even if it means taking on the scars of the past, the fragility of the present, and the impossibility of the future.
I absolutely loved this book and I was quite surprised that I liked it as much as I did. This is the first book I have ever read where it is solely focused on werewolves so I didn't really know what to expect.
Sam, a werewolf has always watched Grace, the girl he saves from his pack years ago. She should have transformed into a wolf when she was bitten but she didn't. Does this mean that there is a chance for him to turn back human so he can finally be with the girl he has loved for so long from a far?
I really didn't expect the book to be quite as heartfelt and emotional as it was. I always expected a werwolf book to be quite violent and about the werewolves embracing their nature, I didn't expect to find such an emotional story of how the wolves don't want to be wolves, all they want is to be human.
I really love Sam, he is such a great character and every time he said something I just wanted to hug him, more than anything I was praying that he could find a cure and find a way for him and Grace to be together.
I really loved this book, it was incredible and I can't wait to see where the story goes from here.
