From Goodreads:
From the author of the Alexa Montgomery Saga, comes a book that will take you into the mind of a geniune pyschopath, the lives of six ordinary people, and the world of a very special girl named Joe.

Joe is seemingly an ordinary college student. She works, studies and reads. But in between these activities Joe has a gift that promises to add a dose of color to her life at any given moment. Joe sees things before they happen. Bad things, and the worst thing she has ever faced is just around the corner. Someone is planning a massacre at the college university that Joe attends, and the only person with a hope of stopping the pyschopath is her.

Oh, the beauty of foresight. More like a curse. Joe has four days to figure out the mystery, make plans to take down the pyscho, and save the lives of people. People like you and me. Ordinary people.

I for one am sooooo excited to read this book and I woke up this morning to a review copy sitting in my inbox waiting for me. I will be starting it very soon.
But for now I have an exclusive excerpt for you.......

No, it will never stop. As long as you have this gift, it will never stop. And when you get out into the big ole world, Baby, it’s just going to get worse. Evil is not just a thing of fairytales. Evil is real and it walks among us. Evil is jealousy and hate and fear and fire. Yes, evil is fire. You saw it in his eyes. The fire reflected from those jealous, hateful eyes, and whether or not you want it to, it’s going to happen. So,
What now? What are you going to do now?

From Goodreads:
A simple mission turned deadly.

Nineteen-year-old vampire Dawn has led a sheltered life within the confines of her father’s presidential headquarters. Upon being sent on a mission to revamp four goofy misfits into guardians of a peaceful little town of Angel Creek, Dawn believes that all her dreams have finally come true. What starts off as a simple task, turns into something unexpected, changing Dawn’s life forever and leading the action-loving, thrill-seeking vampire teen on a path of mystery, danger and intrigue.

When a human girl is kidnapped by a group of rogue vamps, Dawn discovers that there is more going on in Angel Creek than meets the eye. And it all connects to Ethan, the cute newcomer who seems too perfect to be true, Sebastian, the mysterious vampire with a turbulent past, and even Dawn herself. Dawn must not only succeed in revamping the troubled recruits, but must also prevent the vampire race from being overtaken by a malevolent villain who has a strange and obsessive fascination with her. As threat escalates, romance blooms, and ghosts from her past begin to surface, Dawn is sure of only one thing: her life will never be the same.
"I was falling for the one guy in the world I had never expected to fall for. And I was falling hard."

I really don't know what to say when thinking about this book. I had heard great things about this book but after reading so many vampire books I was completely prepared for this to be just another vampire book. I was completely surprised and ended up loving this book.

Vampire Dawn has always been trained to be her father's second-in-command. So when an important mission comes up and Dawn is sent to do it she thinks her life is finally going to begin. What she doesn't count on is her life changing forever and her life being put in grave danger. Trying to train her new vampire friends to protect the town of Angel Creek Dawn finds herself torn between two guys, Ethan, the human who is crushing hard on Dawn and the uptight mysterious vampire Sebastian who Dawn feels a strange connection to. Can she sort out her tangled feelings and protect her life?

I was really consumed by this story and ended up reading it one sitting. I couldn't put it down and was completely hooked from page one. Ada is such a fantastic author and she completely sucks you in from the prologue. Using foreshadowing to show us a glimpse of what is to come was such a fantastic way to start this book and I just couldn't stop reading and needed to know what was going to happen. This book is sweet, beautiful and exciting. I loved seeing the relationships between the characters develop and loved that the characters grew so much throughout the book.

Dawn is such a fantastic lead character and I loved her. She is just fantastic. She is strong and doesn't fear change. She thrives under pressure and she definitely isn't one of these YA characters who sits around waiting for a guy to save her. When she is in danger she takes charge of the situation and acts to help her friends. I really loved her and she is one of my favourite YA lead characters. I felt like Dawn really grew throughout this book. She started as the innocent daddy's girl who led a very sheltered life and she grew up a lot and ended up the strong-willed action girl who would stop at nothing to solve the problem and help her friends.

The guys. This is what every girl wants to hear about for the books. Well in this book there are two completely swoon-worthy guys and I fell in love with them both. Ethan is the cutest, sweetest character ever. He's so adorable and from the moment we met him in the book I was constantly going awww. BUT there was something about him that I didn't trust throughout the book and I turned out to be right but at the end I still loved him.
Sebastian on the other hand... WOW! I just completely fell in lust... er... I mean Love from the first moment. I liked the book a whole lot and then we met Sebastian and I immediately loved it. He is hot, mysterious, brooding and I just loved him. The more of Sebastian that I read the more I totally loved him.

This book was completely amazing and I couldn't put it down. It's amazing in terms of the relationships and I totally loved every character in it. The thing I loved most about ReVamped is that it is fast-paced and action-packed. I was sat holding my breath waiting to find out what was going to happen. I loved every moment of this book. It is no ordinary vampire book. It's completely unique and I loved that. It's so difficult to find an original vampire story and at times I feel like the whole vampire thing has been overdone and get a little bored of it. ReVamped is amazing and unique and it has me hanging on for book 2.
A must-read

Blog Tour: Moon Dwellers by David Estes Double Review + Giveaway

Hey guys, I'm so excited to be on the blog tour for The Moon Dwellers blog tour. I was lucky enough to beta read this book for David and I loved it so much I am so excited to see it now published!

The Moon Dwellers (Dwellers #1)

Publication Date: June 30, 2012

Format: E-Book

From Goodreads:
In a desperate attempt to escape destruction decades earlier, humankind was forced underground, into the depths of the earth, creating a new society called the Tri-Realms.

After her parents and sister are abducted by the Enforcers, seventeen-year-old Adele, a member of the middle-class moon dwellers, is unjustly sentenced to life in prison for her parents' crimes of treason.

Against all odds, Adele must escape from the Pen and find her family, while being hunted by a deranged, killing machine named Rivet, who works for the President. She is helped by two other inmates, Tawni and Cole, each of whom have dark secrets that are better left undiscovered. Other than her friends, the only thing she has going for her is a wicked roundhouse kick and two fists that have been well-trained for combat by her father.

At the other end of the social spectrum is Tristan, the son of the President and a sun dweller. His mother is gone. He hates his father. Backed by only his servant and best friend, Roc, he leaves his lavish lifestyle in the Sun Realm, seeking to make something good out of his troubled life.

When a war breaks out within the Tri-Realms, Tristan is thrust into the middle of a conflict that seems to mysteriously follow Adele as she seeks to find her family and uncover her parents true past.

Wow! What can I say about this book? It is absolutely awesome. That is definitely the first word that comes to mind when I think of Moon Dwellers.

Adele, a Moon dweller, has been sentenced to life in the Pen. She has come to terms with what her life is going to be like. But then she sees Tristan. Son of the president, he would never notice her right? But when their eyes meet for a split second something happens, they feel a connection. Now with her new found friends in the pen Adele is determined to escape the pen, find her family and bring them back together. But will she be able to succeed and will she be able to find Tristan and see if he feels the same, or will she be doomed to spend life behind bars for a crime she didn’t commit?

I really enjoyed this book. It was fantastic. I was drawn into this new dystopian world from the first chapter and was intrigued as to find out what was going to happen. This was the first book I have read by Davis Estes and I will definitely be reading his other work as well, I was amazed by his ability to completely hook me to the story within a few pages and have me sat on the edge of my seat unable to put the book down as I desperately needed to know what was going to happen. I am definitely a fan now.

I loved the characters in this book and how none of them is how they seem. I loved Adele and I really connected with her and felt through her. I loved how we figured more and more about this world and the other characters through her journey. I felt like everything she was going through I was going through as well and I needed to know what happened to her.
I really loved Tristan as well and how he is definitely not what you would expect from him, being the president’s daughter and I loved how you found more about his good side and how he wanted to see change more as you went through the journey with him.
I really loved that this book is told from a split perspective. I really love books told from multiple perspectives as I feel like you can get two sides of the story and really feel like you are going on two different journeys at the same time. This is definitely the case in this book. You are going on Adele’s journey of putting her family back together as well as going on Tristan’s journey to defy his father and chase after what is right.

I don’t know what I was expecting when I started this book but it definitely was not the amazing new series that I found. I will definitely be following Adele and Tristan’s story right to the end and I cannot wait to find out what happens next. An amazing start to a new series and I can’t wait to read more.

After all the great reviews I already had read about this book I was really glad when I got an ARC to read for a blog tour. I had high expectation of this book, but it certainly was a great read with an original story.

Let me start with the story, it is a unique dystophia story. I really liked it, but I think there was a bit too much focus "love at first sight". Both characters practically are in love with each other without knowing each other. I am not a fan of insta love, so I didn't like this part of the story. Luckily there where enough great parts to compensate. Although at times it was a bit boring and I felt like there was just missing something that would've made the book awesome.

When I think about the story I also immediately think about world building. I love world building and it is certainly something a good dystophia novel should have. Well let me say the world building was great. I loved the world and it was such an unique world. We even get an explantion for how the world came to be. We get enough world building, but I still would've liked to see more how the different classes live, I hope we get more of that in the next book.

And then the characters, almost from the beginning I loved the characters. There is so much depth to them and they all have their own unique personality. And from the two main characters we get enough background to also understand why they are the way they are. Adele was such a strong female characters, I really recommend this book for those who love strong female characters. She is strong in mind and body, knows how to fight, but never initiates a fight. I also liked Tristan and the fact that he don't wants to be like his father, but clearly thinks for himself. I still think that it is a bit strange he left everything he knew just to chase a girl, but that's my opinion. The side characters where also great, they had this characteristics that made them unique and I liked learning more about them.
There where a few characters that I didn't like. Like Tristans father and "the evil guy". I just really couldn't understand why they acted like they did. And they both seemed a bit simple characters, I didn't feel like there was much depth to them.

This book uses multiple perspectives. I am a huge fan of multiple perspectives, but I think the author could've used it a bit better. I really like seeing both Tristan and Adele's perspective, it makes the story more complete and we understand them both. We also see two different stories and perspectives. The thing I didn't like about the multiple POV's is that sometimes we get to see events from both their perspectives. First we see one of their POV's and then it stwiches to the other POV and some of the events we already saw we now see from another side. Sometime it works, but most of the times I felt like it disrupted the flow of the story a bit. Also the author uses cliffhangers a bit too  e-often, many chapters end with a small clifhanger and we get the other's POV, while I just wanted to see more from the current POV.

To conclude: a great and original story. I loved the world building and the characters. I do think there was a bit too much focus on the insta love and I think the multiple POV's could've been done better. Overal I really enjoyed the book and am curious what will happen in the next book.

Blog Tour: Bare Naked Lola by Misa Ramirez

I am so excited to have the amazing Misa Ramirez on K-Books today for the blog tour of her new book Bare Nakes Lola (Lola Cruz Mystery #3).

I have not yet read this series. Yes I know, I totally fail! But I will. SOON! Because I love Misa, she's awesome!

So enough gushing from me, YES I'm totally having a fangirl moment having Misa on my blog! But here's she is to talk about her fantastic new book!

Bare-Naked Lola is the perfect summer read.  Fun, sassy, sexy, and a page turner.  There’s nothing better for the pool!
One of the best things about writing the Lola Cruz Mystery Series is spending time with the characters who’ve become friends and family to me.  Lola, of course, Jack Callaghan, Manny Camacho, Reily, Antonio, Lola’s parents, her cousin, Chely…  I could go on and on!
I created online dating profiles for a lot of the characters and thought I’d share a few of them today.  As I visit different sites to celebrate the release of Bare-Naked Lola, book three in the Lola Cruz series, I’ll be sharing more.  It’s fun to try to decide who each person belongs with.   Hope you’ll follow along!  You can see the tour stops HERE .   < http://www.entangledinromance.com/2012/05/01/the-official-blog-tour-for-bare-naked-lola/>

Dolores Cruz (Lola for short)

Novice Private Investigator at local firm and part time waitress at family’s restaurant, Abuelita’s
Interviewer’s Comments:
Talk about a bombshell. Ms. Cruz is the whole enchilada, complete with a body that can make a grown man cry. When she mentioned her belly button piercing, this interviewer nearly drooled on his notepad.
Why this woman is single is a mystery. She says she’s got two men vying for her attention (an old high school friend and her boss) and it seems someone’s out to kill her. But other than that…
She’s hot, but this interviewer will stay away from her inbox.

Jack Callaghan
Occupation:
Newspaper Columnist
Interviewer’s Comments:
OMG! Mr. Callaghan is one hot guy. Killer body. Bet he has a six-pack under that t-shirt. Maybe two. I’ll be sending my info to his inbox, pronto. ‘Course he says he’s in love with an old high school friend. Great. But her job is complicated and dangerous, so maybe I have a chance. But then there’s Sarah. Who’s the heck is Sarah?
Mr. Callaghan just moved back to Sacramento to take a job at the newspaper. His column runs on the front page of the Metro. You better believe I’ll be checking it out.
I think I’ll clip out his byline photo for my personal use. *grin, wink, wink*

Review: Sacrifice of Passion

Sacrifice of Passion
Melissa Bourbon Ramirez

Published By: Entangled Publishing
Publication Date: June 15, 2012
Date Read: June 20, 2012
Genre: Adult - Suspence / Romance
Source: Bought
Format: E-Book
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/15713555-sacrifice-of-passion
From Goodreads:
A tall, dark, single dad Texas rancher finds himself facing more than his stubbornly silent son when the chupacabra, a supposedly mythical blood-sucking beast, starts killing his livestock—and stalking the town’s newly returned veterinary assistant, the sensual woman who ran from the altar and broke his heart twelve years earlier. Determined to purge his sizzling memories of her from his all-too-vivid imagination, he seeks her help to get to the bottom of the disturbing animal mutilations, only to have her break through to his sullen son…and rekindle the love he’d thought was lost forever.

But her refusal to share a terrible secret sends her running straight into the lair of the chupacabra, plunging her back into her worst nightmare, and forcing them both to confront the wrongs of the past in order to stay alive for the future they desperately want.

Wow, that is the first word that comes to mind when thinking of this book. Since I first heard of this book I instantly wanted to read it. I have worked with Misa before when reviewing books for other authors through Entangled Publishing but had never read any of her books before. This has completely had me thinking why haven't I read any of Misa's books before now? I was completely blown away with this book.

Vic is struggling with his day to day life. Trying to learn how to be a good Dad to his 11-year-old son he never knew existed. But when strange things start happening on his ranch and the only girl he ever loved, Delaney comes back to town things go from bad to worse. Can he figure out what is happening to the animals on the rance and be there for his son? And why do all these bad things seem to be pointing to Delaney. Can they work out their past and figure out the mystery surrounding the ranches, or are the destined to be apart forever?

I am still completely shocked by this book. When I started I was completely expecting just another normal contemporary romance book. This was all I was expecting and so much more. I couldn't put this book down! I couldn't believe the things that were happening and I was sat reading with bated breath wondering what could possibly happen next. Sacrifice of Passion has romance, mystery and danger. It is action packed and fast paced and sucks you in from the very first page and has you breathlessly waiting to see what's going to happen with these characters.

If I had to describe this book in one word it would be 'hot' I totally fell in lust... er... I mean love with Vic. Vic is HOT! I was swooning so much in every scene he is in, which is a LOT! He is the perfect man than everyone wants to be real. I could not get enough of Vic and I am really sad that I have finished this book because I am already missing Vic. I love him so much.

Delaney is another fantastic character that everyone will love. She's such a fantastic main character and although she is going through hell and suffering because of her past she is still strong and is determined to turn her life around and make it better. It's true that at times she really irritated me because of all of the secrets she was keeping from Vic. The one thing you want more than ever is to see them work things out and be together so you want to shake her a little and tell her to stop being stupid and talk to him. But as you read more and find out more about her secrets you really see why Delaney acts the way she does. Yea I loved her again by the end.

This book just totally blew me away and I already want to re-read it. I was completely blown away and Misa is now one of my favourite authors. I must read all of her other books. If you love books with action, romance and a hot heart-stopping hero this is definitely the book for you. It was completely phenomenal and I would recommend it to everyone!

Blog Tour: The Fallen Queen by Jane Kindred - Interview + Giveaway

I am so excited to be a part of the blog tour for The Fallen Queen by Jane Kindred. The Fallen Queen is being re-published with a stunning new cover.
You wanna know about the book and the incredible author? Well here ya go!

The Fallen Queen (House of Arkhangel'sk #1)
Jane Kindred

Photobucket
Blurb:
Heaven can go to hell.

Until her cousin slaughtered the supernal family, Anazakia’s father ruled the Heavens, governing noble Host and Fallen peasants alike. Now Anazakia is the last grand duchess of the House of Arkhangel’sk, and all she wants is to stay alive.
Hunted by Seraph assassins, Anazakia flees Heaven with two Fallen thieves—fire demon Vasily and air demon Belphagor, each with their own nefarious agenda—who hide her in the world of Man. The line between vice and virtue soon blurs, and when Belphagor is imprisoned, the unexpected passion of Vasily warms her through the Russian winter.

Heaven seems a distant dream, but when Anazakia learns the truth behind the celestial coup, she will have to return to fight for the throne—even if it means saving the man who murdered everyone she loved.

Jane Kindred began writing fantasy at age 12 in the wayback of a Plymouth Fury—which, as far as she recalls, never killed anyone…who didn’t have it coming. She spent her formative years ruining her eyes reading romance novels in the Tucson sun and watching Star Trek marathons in the dark. Although she was repeatedly urged to learn a marketable skill, she received a B.A. in Creative Writing anyway from the University of Arizona.
She now writes to the sound of San Francisco foghorns while two cats slowly but surely edge her off the side of the bed.
You can find Jane on Twitter, Facebook, Goodreads, and on her website.

Now you know about the book and the author, let's give a big K-Books welcome to Jane Kindred!

K-Books: Hi Jane, Thanks so much for being on K-Books today. The Fallen Queen is being re-released with a stunning new cover. To me the cover screams "Read me NOW" It's just beautiful. What do you think of the re-release of it?

Jane: Thanks Kayleigh, and thanks for having me on K-Books! I am head-over-heels in love with the cover. The first cover makes sense once you've read the book, but I think it gave some readers the wrong impression of what it was about. The new cover is not only gorgeous, it really evoked the mood of the story as well.

So for those who haven't heard of the book can you give us a quick description of what it's about?

The Fallen Queen is an epic fantasy set in both a heaven that resembles late-Victorian-era St. Petersburg, Russia, and in modern-day St. Petersburg itself, and followed the plight of a celestial grand duchess who narrowly escapes when the rest of her family is murdered. It's a sort of fantastical take on the Anastasia story. There are angels and demons, Slavic fairies who guard mythical flowers in the Russian forest, White Nights, and winter night over the White Sea lit by the glow of aurora borealis.

I can't wait to read it. Were there any parts of the book that you enjoyed writing more than the other?

I really enjoyed writing the romantic relationships. I tend to find out who's into whom as I go, and I love the moment when a spark finally happens and two characters stop fighting their common sense and give in to the illogic of their attraction. And I especially like bringing two characters together who have allowed misunderstandings and hurt feelings to seperate them for too long.

Who was you favourite character to write?

Belphagor was, by far, my favourite, and he continues to be as I get further into the series. His snark and his slightly brusque manner comes really easily for me, and there's so much underneath the surface with him that I'm constantly discovering new things about him. His nature as a demon card sharp and thief gets him into a lot of interesting situations, and he's covered in Russian prison tattoos, which I find really sexy. And he has some rather interesting... proclivities. ;)

So what else can we expect from you in the future?
