From Goodreads:
While trying to save her brother from a witch’s fire four years ago, Greta was thrown in herself, falling through a portal to Mylena, a dangerous world where humans are the enemy and every ogre, ghoul, and goblin has a dark side that comes out with the eclipse.

To survive, Greta has hidden her humanity and taken the job of bounty hunter—and she’s good at what she does. So good, she’s caught the attention of Mylena’s young goblin king, the darkly enticing Isaac, who invades her dreams and undermines her will to escape.

But Greta’s not the only one looking to get out of Mylena. An ancient evil knows she’s the key to opening the portal, and with the next eclipse mere days away, every bloodthirsty creature in the realm is after her—including Isaac. If Greta fails, she and the lost boys of Mylena will die. If she succeeds, no world will be safe from what follows her back...

Doesn't this book just sound phenomenal?
I was lucky enough to receive an eARC of this book but unfortunately due to University I have not had time to read it yet. This is my next read after I finish other Entangled Teen book Luminosity. I can't wait to get reading this. I have heard amazing things.

Now I would like to give a big warm welcome to Chloe Jacobs to K-Books.

Hi Chloe,
Thanks for taking the time to be with us on K-Books today.
Hey! Thanks for inviting me! I’m so excited to be here.

When did you first discover that you wanted to be a writer?
I think I’ve always been a writer. I started writing back in high school. I even won a regional writing contest when I was in the tenth grade for a story I wrote about a girl who being haunted by the ghost of her dead boyfriend. He possesses the radio in her kitchen and his spirit tries to kill the new guy who likes her!
It was awesome. I should pull that one out again one day. LOL
Your upcoming novel is in the paranormal genre. Did you always want to write in this genre?
I like writing in a lot of different genres, but I always come back to the paranormal and the fantasy. There’s something about making my own rules, creating my own worlds, and writing about characters who are bigger and badder than life that get me excited!
What genre book do you enjoy reading?
I read everything and anything, as long as the characters seem real and compelling, and I can feel their pain, heartache, joy, and love. I want to suffer right along with them and drown myself in their world, no matter where it is.

Do you have any authors that you look up to or that inspire you?
I’m truly inspired by anyone who can make me wish the book never ended, or think about it even days after I’m done. Recently, I’ve felt that way about Gravity by Melissa West and Easy by Tammara Webber.
Your book Greta and the Goblin King is due to be released soon. I am so excited to read it sounds absolutely incredible. What was the inspiration behind that story?
I was really just looking to tell a compelling story. I started by putting a twist on the traditional Hansel and Gretel fairy tale, but the story evolved into something much more than that.
How do you feel about unleashing this story into the world?
Crazy nervous! LOL
Do you take any personal experiences and adapt them into your writing?
I think writing effectively—with depth and emotion—always has to come from inside to some extent.
I may not know what it really feels like to face off against a ghoul and cut its head off (at least, not yet), but I know what the rush of adrenaline feels like when you’re in the middle of a conflict. I know how it feels to be desperate to come out on top, to believe that what you’re doing could cost you your life.
So yes, I’ll use the memory of any emotion, any experience, if it will make my writing better, more real.
Are there any particular scenes that you enjoy writing more than others?
The scenes between Greta and Isaac are so fantastic. I love pitting the two of them against each other. They’re both strong and stubborn in their own way, and their volatile chemistry practically wrote itself, it was so potent and hot.
And finally what can we expect to see from you in the future?
I’m writing more Greta! I can’t wait to finish book 2 (even though I can’t say much about it yet). I’m also writing a post-apocalyptic story about a boy whose protected little world is about to be blown wide open.

Connect With Chloe:

Chloe Jacobs is a native of nowhere and everywhere, having jumped around to practically every Province of Canada before finally settling in Ontario where she has now been living for a respectable number of years. Her husband and son are the two best people in the entire world, but they also make her wish she'd at least gotten a female cat. No such luck. And although the day job keeps her busy, she carves out as much time as possible to write. Bringing new characters to life and finding out what makes them tick and how badly she can make them suffer is one of her greatest pleasures, almost better than chocolate and fuzzy pink bunny slippers.
Her debut Young Adult fantasy, GRETA AND THE GOBLIN KING, will be available everywhere Winter 2012! In the meantime, check her out online…
