I am so excited to be a part of the blog tour for Darker Days, the first installment in the phenomenal new series by Jus Accardo.
I was lucky enough to win a ARC of this book back when the ARC Lottery first started and let me tell you it is amazing! I loved every moment of it. It's definitely not to be missed.

From Goodreads:Jessie Darker goes to high school during the day, but at night she helps with the family investigation business. Cheating husbands and stolen inheritances? They’re your girls—but their specialty is a bit darker. Zombie in your garage? Pesky Poltergeist living in your pool? They’ll have the problem solved in a magical minute. For a nominal fee, of course...
When gorgeous new client, Lukas Scott, saunters into the office requesting their help to find a stolen box, it sounds like a simple case—until the truth comes out. The box is full of Sin.
Seven deadly ones, in fact.
They’ve got five days to recapture the Sins before they're recalled by the box, taking seven hijacked human bodies with them. Easy peasy—except for one thing...
There’s a spell that will allow the Sins to remain free, causing chaos forever. When the key ingredient threatens the life of someone she knows, Jessie must make the ultimate choice between love and family—or lose everything.
Sounds epically awesome right?
That's because it is!

Exclusive Interview with Jus Accardo
Thanks so much for joining us today.
Thanks for letting me hang! ☺
First of all tell us a bit about your new release Darker Days.
DARKER DAYS revolves around seventeen year old Jessie Darker, who helps her mom with the family business—the Darker Agency. They deal in all the staples, but their real specialty is the paranormal. Their latest client, hottie Lukas Scott, just hired them to take down the Seven Deadly Sins…
Seven Sins. Six innocent people. Five days. No problem… :D
Darker Days is a lot different to your other series, Denezen. I found it a lot more humerous, how did you come up with the storyline?
I'd gotten the basic idea for the series—girl and her mom fight the paranormal using the family business as a front—about two chapters into writing TOUCH. It was really just one of those random ideas—I have a lot of those. I think what I loved most about the whole concept was the parent/child dynamic. As soon as I finished with TOUCH, I jumped right on it with no expectations. I had no plan or outline. By the time I finished the first book, I had the first major plot arc down, which will be played out over the course of the first three books.
Jessie is without a doubt my favourite character. She is hilarious. Where did the inspiration for her come from?
I wish I could say it was something specific, but she just kind of came into her own. To be honest, when I started writing the book, it was much darker in my mind. But as I went, Jessie's sarcasm and humor just came out so perfectly on the page. She was who she was and I didn’t try to change it.
Who was your favourite character to write about?
I won't lie. I love Smokey. There I said it. Even though he wasn't a monumental part of this book, my fave character was the puppy. I'm such a sucker for dogs… Jessie probably takes a close second.
Are there any particular scenes that you enjoyed writing more than others?
I'm partial to the early scenes between Jessie and Lukas. There's a little bit of that whole opposites attract friction going on and it was such a blast to play out.
How do you feel about unleashing the series into the world?
I'm excited, but also nervous. I feel like I've got a special attachment to this one. Don't get me wrong. I love Dez and Kale. But like I said before, I think it's the mother/daughter dynamic that does it for me. Jessie and her mom have the same kind of relationship that my mom and I have. Well, we don't throw down with the supernatural… Unless my own personal demon doggies count? ;) I wanna see more of that in YA fiction. Not all parent children relationships have to be rocky. Not all the parents need to be stuffed into the background, ya know?
I love Darker Days, I just thought it was phenomenal. It’s going to be a series right?
It is, which I'm very happy about. I can't wait for you guys to see how it all unfolds and hope you end up as happy with it as I am!
And finally what can we expect from you in the near future?
My first new adult title, RUINED, is releasing at the end of September, which I'm very excited about. It's totally different from everything else I've done, and I love it!
