Waiting On Wednesday

All Our Yesterdays
Cristin Terrill

Published By: Bloomsbury Publishing
Publication Date: August 1, 2013
Genre: YA - Dystopia

From Goodreads:
A brilliantly brain-warping thriller and a love story that leaps back and forth in time - All Our Yesterdays is an amazing first novel, perfect for fans of The Hunger Games.

Em is locked in a bare, cold cell with no comforts. Finn is in the cell next door. The Doctor is keeping them there until they tell him what he wants to know. Trouble is, what he wants to know hasn't happened yet.

Em and Finn have a shared past, but no future unless they can find a way out. The present is torture - being kept apart, overhearing each other's anguish as the Doctor relentlessly seeks answers. There's no way back from here, to what they used to be, the world they used to know. Then Em finds a note in her cell which changes everything. It's from her future self and contains some simple but very clear instructions. Em must travel back in time to avert a tragedy that's about to unfold. Worse, she has to pursue and kill the boy she loves to change the future

I am such a huuuuge fan of YA Dystopia novels and this one just sounds absolutely epic. I cannot wait to get my hands on this one.
Luckily it comes out TOMORROW! EEEPPP!

Soooo beyond excited to read this one. It just sounds incredible and exciting.

15 Day Book Blogger Challenge: Day 6 - Describe How You Shop For books

Describe how you shop for Books.

 Covers! Covers! Covers!

I know exactly what you are going to say. "Never judge a book by its cover" but I do, all the damn time and if I see a cover that is horrible the bottom line is I am not going to buy it. Not a chance in hell.

I will go to my favourite part of the book store, the YA Paranormal/Dystopia/Contemporary section and will just browse. If a cover catches my eye I will buy it. It's all about the covers.

Blog Tour: A Tale of Two Centuries (My Super Sweet Sixteenth Century #2) Review, Quotes + Giveaway

Hey Guys,
I am so excited to be a part of the blog tour for Rachel Harris' upcoming book, A Tale of Two Centuries. A Tale of Two Centuries is the second installment in Rachel's incredible My Super Sweet Sixteenth Century series.

My Review:

A Tale of Two Centuries (My Super Sweet Sixteenth Century #2)
Rachel Harris

Published By: Entangled Teen
Publication Date: August 6, 2013
Date Read: July 15, 2013
Genre: YA - Historical / Contemporary

From Goodreads:
Alessandra D’Angeli is in need of an adventure. Tired of her sixteenth-century life in Italy and homesick for her time-traveling cousin, Cat, who visited her for a magical week and dazzled her with tales of the future, Alessandra is lost. Until the stars hear her plea.

One mystical spell later, Alessandra appears on Cat’s Beverly Hills doorstep five hundred years in the future. Surrounded by confusing gadgets, scary transportation, and scandalous clothing, Less is hesitant to live the life of a twenty-first century teen…until she meets the infuriating—and infuriatingly handsome—surfer Austin Michaels. Austin challenges everything she believes in…and introduces her to a world filled with possibility.

With the clock ticking, Less knows she must live every moment of her modern life while she still can. But how will she return to the drab life of her past when the future is what holds everything she’s come to love?
"I do see the real you, Alessandra. And I think I'm falling for the girl I see."

Right from the moment I finished the first installment in this series I couldn't wait to get my hands on this book. For one who really doesn't like historical novels I adore this series. Rachel Harris really does the impossible in this series and makes a unlikely genre for YA fiction into a must-read series.

Alessandra hasn't been the same since her cousin Cat barged into her life from the future. Now stuck in the 16th Century Renaissance Italy with dreams that could only come true in a time other than her own Alessandra is stuck. But when Rayna, the mysterious girl in the gypsy tent who brought Cat to the past appears she knows she is about to get an adventure of her own. Whisked away to the twenty first century Alessandra can live her dream of being an actress. But how long will she be there? And when she meets the infuriating but gorgeous surfer boy Austin, does she want to go? Time is running out for Alessandra and she may have to leave the only place she has ever fit in.

I love love loved this book. I admit that in the beginning I didn't find it as endearing as I did with My Super Sweet Sixteenth Century. There was just something more relatable and endearing about a twenty first century character in a sixteenth century time. You could relate with Cat and understand why she was the way she was as it is what we would have been acting like if we were suddenly whisked off to the past. However once I got a few chapters in I couldn't put it down. I loved reading Alessandra's story and her actions, especially at the beginning of the book, really made me laugh. I absolutely adore her and her story was full of awkward humor and who doesn't love that?

I adore Austin. As much as I loved Lorenzo in My Super Sweet Sixteenth Century but Austin is my man. I adore him so much. He is arrogant and infuriating and damn right drop dead gorgeous. He is the epitome of the bad boy and I loved him right from the very first moment he came into the book. He is the guy that every girl will want to give him a slap upside the head while wanting to throw themselves at him at the same time.

One thing that I adore about Rachel Harris' books is that her writing style is just so refreshing and great and it makes them such an easy read. You can just get lost in the story without having to think too much about it. I love her writing style and have adored every book of hers I have read, including her Adult Romance novel. I have to say that this is my favourite of Rachel's work so far. It was so easy to just forget the world and everything around you and just get lost in the incredible tale of two times colliding.

A Tale of Two Centuries is a must-read for everyone. It has everything you could possibly want. Time travel, a clash of two centuries that makes it hilarious, a super hot surfer dude, heart-stopping romance and a race against the clock to see what happens. When you are nearing the end you seriously cannot turn the pages... or click the ereader button fast enough. I loved every single moment for it and I cannot wait for the third installment in this series. I want it now!

"I am not without fear, but courage is taking action despite the fear. Knowing what you want, what you are meant to do, and proceeding despite any knots in your stomach or rocks stuck in your throat. It is walking boldly into the unknown with your chin held high... even if it quivers."

Favourite Austin Quotes

Thanks to the ever awesome Flirt Squad for their favourite quotes.

- "What, no comment? No Shakespearean reply?”

- “Careful, girl. You’re playing with fire.”

- "That's some sexy accent you have there," Austin says in a hushed voice - but not that hushed. A few people around us snicker at my evident discomfort, which of course only serves to spur him on more. "Italian, right? Mmm. Sat something else - how do you say blush in Italian?"

- "You want more. Don't you, Princess?"

- "One way or another, Alessandra, I'm yours until you get rid of me."

- "Baby, you’re not the one who needs to change, and definitely not for a chickenshit like me. You’re perfect the way you are, and I’m an asshole for not realizing it sooner.”

- “And I know this isn’t you…though I ain’t gonna lie, this possessive streak of yours is a turn-on.”

- "Baby, I just found you…you really think I’m gonna let her take you away from me?"

- “You know, Princess, I don’t think we need my challenges anymore. I can already tell life with you is going to be adventure enough."

- “Reyna’s holding a ticking clock, and it’s getting louder. It’s so freaking loud it’s like a time bomb, counting the seconds until you’re gonna be forced to choose."

Two Roads by L.M. Augustine

Release date: August 26th, 2013

Category/Genre: New Adult Romance

Blurb:

The only person poetry-loving Cali Monroe hates more than herself is Logan Waters, the geeky kid who lives in the dorm building next to hers.

Ever since Cali's parents told her she would amount to nothing, she has felt entirely inadequate. Friendless and alone, she takes on the mean girl role in hopes it will make her feel better--and Logan serves as the perfect target. He infuriates her with his obnoxiously long lashes, his all too perfect dimpled smile, and his complete lack of personality outside of his intelligence. It doesn't hurt that he's part of the reason her brother is dead, either. So Cali hates him, and he returns the favor. Thus, their prank-filled, insult-driven rivalry is born, and torturing Logan quickly becomes the highlight of her life.

But when Cali's parents set them up on a blind date, she begins to realize Logan might not be as boring as she always thought. He shares her love of poetry, takes a sadistic pleasure in making fun of crepes, and he makes her blush when he calls her smile pretty.

And hey, maybe those long lashes of his aren't that obnoxious after all...

15 Day Book Blogger Challenge: Day 5 - Recommend a Tear Jerker

Recommend a Tear Jerker

Oh My this is a hard one. I have read so many tear jerkers I don't even know where to start. There are so many I could name but this is the one....

Noughts & Crosses by Malorie Blackman

This is one of the best books I have ever read but it is the most heartbreaking as well. I mean it with my whole heart when I say that this is the most heart breaking books I have ever read in my life. It's a fantastic story and I loved it so much I gave it 5 stars.
But I will never EVER read another Malorie Blackman book again.
My heart physically cannot take it. I didn't just cry at this book I bawled for hours. I mean my heart physically hurt and I couldn't pick up another book for weeks. I was seriously in a depression after this book. It's fantastic but it is so emotional and heartbreaking. It seriously smashed my heart into smithereens. I couldn't breathe and by the end I could barely read. For the whole last 3/4 chapters I was crying to hard all I could see was a blur. I cried to hard I couldn't see the words. I was about 16 when I read this and my Mum came home and thought someone had seriously died I was such a mess.
Malorie... you are a phenomenal author but I'm sorry. My heart just can't take another one of your books!

15 Day Book Blogger Challenge: Day 4 - What's the Last Book You Flung Across the Room?

Hey guys,
I was having blog and computer issues the last few days so have been unable to do this so I'm back on it with Day 4:

What's the last book you flung across the room?

Well I try my very best not to fling books because I'm too OCD and there was only one book that I physically did that to I mean I literally flung my Kindle at the wall. What was it you ask?

I was so flipping angry with this book and what happened in it. I seriously couldn't help it. I genuinelly freaked out. It gave me a mental breakdown and I genuinelly did throw my kindle across the room.

Yes I have read the last one Clockwork Princess and if it hadn't been a beautiful Hardback that I didn't want to harm I wouldn't have just thrown it across the room and have thrown it in the damn fire. I am furious at CC for this series. I HATED the ending like seriously hated it so much I have second thoughts about ever picking up anything by her ever again. I am still angry about it and NO i don't wanna talk about it because I will just get myself worked up about it all over again!

NA Readathon

Hey Guys,
So two of my favourite bloggers are hosting the New Adult ReadaThon this week and since I have so many NA still unread I decided I am going to join.

Now because I currently have two Paige Toon books still to read I won't be starting this until about Wednesday night/Thursday morning so I am going to go with a pretty small goal and hope to read 3 or 4 books.

Here are the 4 I have selected to read

Wish me luck

Review: Pictures of Lily

Pictures of Lily
Paige Toon

Published By: Simon and Schuster
Publication Date: July 10, 2010
Date Read: July 18, 2013
Genre: Adult - Chick Lit
Source: Bought
Format: Paperback
Pages: 413
 photo goodreads-badge-add-plus-d700d4d3e3c0b346066731ac07b7fe47_zps3cd819f5.png

From Goodreads:
'Will you marry me?' I think of you, then. I think of you every day. But usually in the quietest part of the morning, or the darkest part of the night. Not when my boyfriend of two years has just proposed. I look up at Richard with his hopeful eyes. 'Lily?' he prompts. It's been ten years, but it feels like only yesterday that you left. How can I say yes to Richard with all my heart when most of it has always belonged to you? I take a deep breath and will myself to speak...

Ten years ago when Lily was just sixteen, she fell in love with someone she really shouldn't have fallen in love with. Now, living in Sydney and engaged to another man, she can't forget the one that got away. Then her past comes back to haunt her, and she has to make a decision that will break her heart - and the heart of at least one of the men who love her.

Yet another breathtaking novel from Paige Toon. Paige Toon is proving herself to be one of the front runners of the Chick Lit genre. I just can't get enough of her books. I find all of them completely unputdownable and end up reading them in one sitting and Pictures of Lily was no different. I loved it.

Lily has lived in Sydney for two years and is in a stable relationship and is completely happy... until her boyfriend proposes. How can Lily accept Richard's proposal and say she will spend the rest of her life with him when she has never really given her whole heart to him. Lily's heart has been split since she was sixteen. When she met Ben she just fell head over heels in love with him and when he left he took half her heart with him. How can she be fully with Richard when she has never got her whole heart back from Ben. When Ben comes back into her life Lily is torn. Does she choose the stable relationship with a man who truly loves her or choose the man she never stopped loving who broke her heart? Lily much choose between her head and her heart, but not everyone's hearts will remain unscathed.

Paige Toon once again proves herself as a phenomenal author. Her writing style is unlike any I have ever read in my life in the best way. I can never put her books down and this one was no different. I loved it so much and I loved following Lily's story. Although Pictures of Lily isn't my favourite Paige Toon book I still loved it and I especially loved that we got to see Lucy and Nathan from Lucy in the Sky again. With Lucy in the Sky being my favourite book of Paige's I have to admit that was my favourite part.

My favourite part of Lily's story was without a doubt the beginning when she was 16 and her developing love with Ben. I think we definitely saw the best parts of Lily here and it really was my favourite part. Once we switched back to her adult life I missed the teenage voice of Lily and really missed Ben. I am head over heels in love with him. The sweet guy who loved animals seriously he's like perfect. I loved him the most in this book and even with the age gap between Lily and Ben I was still rooting for him. It really took a lot for me not to flick to the back of the book to find out if things worked out between them or not.

One thing I adore about Paige Toon books is that you have that urge to need to know how it is going to end for the characters so much that you have to choose between cheating and flicking to the end or just speeding through the book and turning pages so fast you think you might get whiplash. Well I chose the latter. I speed through these books like I am an addict... and I am. I am completely and utterly addicted to Paige Toon novels and she builds up the drama and tension between the characters so well that I just can't read fast enough as I must get to the end and see if it all works out. But once I get to the end I am devastated because the book is over.

Pictures of Lily was incredible. I loved that it's set in Australia. I as a Brit crave some mention of a nice hot country and I can always count on Paige's books to take me on an adventure to a different place and Australia is the best of them all. I loved having that setting especially at the beginning where Lily was working in the conservation park with all the animals. I adored reading about that. It was awesome.

The only thing that makes this one of my least favourite Paige Toon novels is that Lily just annoyed me a little towards the end of the book. How she dealt with the whole Richard/Ben thing annoyed me I felt like she just needed to make a choice rather than stringing them both along but at the same time I could understand why she did what she did.

Overall Pictures of Lily was amazing. I loved it and read it in one sitting. It's one of the best Chick Lit books I have ever read and I truly believe that Paige Toon is the best chick lit author out there. I cannot get enough of her books. They are incredible. So if you are a fan of Chick Lit and haven't read Paige Toon I highly suggest you do. They are phenomenal.

"I love you. More now than ever. I've been talking to you inside my head for the last ten years."

Review: Chasing Daisy

Chasing Daisy
Paige Toon

Published By: Simon & Schuster
Publication Date: August 25, 2009
Date Read: July 13, 2013
Genre: Adult - Chick Lit
Source: Bought
Format: Paperback
Pages: 464
 photo goodreads-badge-add-plus-d700d4d3e3c0b346066731ac07b7fe47_zps3cd819f5.png

From Goodreads:
If you fall too fast, you just might crash...
Daisy has been dumped, unceremoniously jilted. Not by any ordinary guy, no... Daisy has a secret in her past that she won't even tell her best friend, Holly. She's given up on men - and on her own family. But life still has to be lived and where better to recover than as far away from home as possible.
Grabbing a chance to see the world, Daisy packs her bags and joins the team catering to the world's highest-paid, supercharged racing drivers on the Formula 1 Grand Prix circuit. From Brazil to Italy, from Melbourne to Monte Carlo, life passes in a dizzying whirlwind. But nothing - and no one - can stop Daisy from falling again... this time for a man who is prepared to risk his life, and his heart, for the sake of speed, danger and ultimate success

"It's strange how the people you care about least, sometimes know you the best. You let your guard down with them because you don't mind that they see you, warts and all."

Chasing Daisy has been sat on my bookshelf for a few years and I just never got round to reading it. I am such a massive fan of chick-lit and I especially love reading chick-lit in the summer so I have dedicated this summer to catching up on Paige Toon books. Ever since reading Paige's debut novel, Lucy In The Sky, back in 2011 I fell head over heels in love with Paige Toon. She is just phenomenal and I couldn't wait to get my hands on more of her books. Chasing Daisy was no different. I fell in love with the characters and story and ended up finishing the book in one sitting. I loved every single second of it.

Daisy's heart has been broken many times. So after another disasterous relationship has ended she packs her bags and joins the catering team to the racing drivers of hte Formula 1 Grand Prix. Not only does she get to do what she loves, she also gets to fly around the world with them. What else could be better? But when Daisy catches the attentions of not one but two of the drivers disaster is bound to strike. Torn between two guys, both who live dangerous lives that could be cut short at any time, Daisy must decide whether falling in love again is worth the risk again, and who should she choose? One thing is for sure, not all three hearts in this Grand Prix are going to remain whole.

Daisy is such a fantastic character. I loved that she was the main character in this one. One thing I genuinelly adore about Paige Toon books is that the characters cross-over through pretty much all of her books. This is why I am adament that I must read them in order of publication date so I can see how they all inter-link together. We met Daisy in a previous book and I was dying to find out what has happened to her so for her to get her own book made me insanely happy. Daisy is such a fantastic character and I love her. She is so awesome and I really associated with her. She is the character that everyone will love and is rooting for. I just loved seeing her as the strong independent woman as well as seeing the more vulnerable side to her. She may have been travelling the world but the real journey was following Daisy's heart and I loved every moment of it.

Now as much as I loved both the guys in this book, they were both great but to me there is only one name worth mentioning... LUIS! Oh my Goodness I fell in love with Luis. He has me giggling to myself many times throughout the book and every scene he was in I was just sat with a big cheesy grin on my face while reading. I love him. He is incredible. He is the typical womanizer bad-boy turned good guy and what girl doesn't love those? Luis was incredible and I was always rooting for him right from the beginning.

Paige Toon is such a phenomenal author. Her writing style is just so easy to read and addictive. I find myself devouring Paige Toon books in one sitting. Once I start there is no hope for anything as I'm just going to sit there until I am done. I adore her books so much, they are addictive and I literally cannot put them down. They are definite one-sit reads no matter how thick the book is.

Chasing Daisy has everything. The glitz of a show-biz life, breath-taking romance and non-stop action. It's one of those books that just stays with you long after you finish reading it. I loved every moment of it and I will definitely be re-reading it at some point. Need more reasons to read it? You have the most incredible inspirational lead female protagonist and swoon worthy super hot boys. What else could you need? I loved every single moment of it.

Now... where's my next Paige Toon book?

"Life can be snatched away from you in an instant, but if you don't give yourself up to love, even with all the risks of losing it, life isn't worth living."
