From Goodreads:
Raised by an old fortune-teller within the dark veil of the Bavarian Black Forest, Rune has learned two valuable lessons: only take from the forest that which you can use, and never, never look anyone in the eye in the village. For something terrible happened in the forest long ago... and now, the whispers of a long-dead mother with a vengeful secret have come haunting.

Forced to flee all she has ever known, Rune soon learns of a legacy she is bound to--one that is drenched in fear, witchcraft and murder--a birthright that stretches beyond the grave to the trees where Rune is no longer safe.

Another paranormal that I think sounds amazing. It's been a while since I read a paranormal that knocked my socks off. I think 2014 could see the rise in YA paranormal again rather than the dystopia and contemporary hypes that we saw last year. Jennifer is the sweetest author ever to talk with and this book just sounds flipping awesome. Can't wait.

Dirty Blood Series by Heather Hildenbrand:

#1 Dirty Blood (Already Read)
#2 Cold Blood (Already Read)
#3 Blood Bond (Already Read)
#4 Blood Rule

This is the only wolf series that doesn't bore me and make my mind wander. I'm not such a huge wolf fan but this series obsessed me. I absolutely love it and couldn't say a bad word about it. I read the first three books in the space of three days. I just couldn't put it down. The reason I haven't read the fourth book yet is the fact that I didn't know it had published yet until recently and it was when I was doing Netgalley month so I am definitely planning on reading this one very soon. I can't wait to see what happens.

Have you read this series?

From Goodreads:
When a supernatural freak of nature forces her family to separate, seventeen-year-old Charlie Page must turn to her frustrating (yet gorgeous) neighbor, Seth, to help reunite them. Seth whisks Charlie to Ellauria—a magical world filled with the creatures of myths and legends—and tells her of the Fellowship, the group charged with protecting mystical beings from human discovery. (All except Bigfoot: that attention whore is a total lost cause.) But when Charlie learns that she's under the Fellowship's protection herself, well, "stressed" is an understatement.

Ellauria should be the safest place for Charlie while the Fellowship works to find her family, but things in the mystical realm aren’t what they seem.

Magic is failing, creatures are dying, and the Fellowship insists Charlie holds the key to saving everyone. With her family still missing and the danger in Ellauria growing, Charlie doesn't know who she can trust. She's dealing with a power she never asked for, falling for a guy she can't have, and being forced to choose between her destiny and her heart. And if she chooses wrong, she could destroy magic forever.

Charlie may be in over her head.

It's been a while since I read a paranormal book that really captured my attention and I found unputdownable. This one sounds like it definitely has the potential to be my next obsess-over paranormal book. Plus it's from Spencer Hill Press and I love all of the books from them.

Bad Boys Series by M. Leighton:

I read Down To You early last year and I loved it. It's a brilliant Adult Contemporary Romance and I've been meaning to continue the series for ages. I got Up To Me as soon as it released in Jan 2013 and it's still sat unread.

Masked (New World #2)

From Goodreads:
Hatred paralyzes life; love releases it.

New Berlin, 2040. Rebels prepare to fight against the New World Order, bent on bringing down the world’s greatest tyrant. One girl wanted nothing to do with it, content to keep her head down and make the best of this new world. That is, until she has no choice but to work with the rebels and infiltrate the NWO headquarters. Every moment she spends there puts her in danger, especially when one man, the second in command to the New World leader, continues to make his way into her every thought. She must stay focused and protect not just her mind and body, but also her heart. Will she be able to complete her task without being unmasked? Or will the one man standing in her way ruin it all?

"I don't deserve to know any piece of heaven found with you. You're far too good for me."

Ever since I read her debut novel, Eden, I have been completely enraptured by the work of Janelle Stalder. She is such a fantastic author and has such a skill and talent when it comes to the written word. Every book is a fast action-packed, romance-filled roller coaster ride and Masked is no different. I thought nothing could quite beat the wonder that was Switch but Masked made me eat my words. Janelle has taken this new dystopic world and upped the stakes by a million.

Bridgette has taken her sisters place in the home of the enemy. Challenged with a task she must complete Bridgette must make sure her identity is kept secret or her life may be threatened. But that is easier said than done when Roman elicts feelings in her nobody has before. Will Bridgette do her job or are her feelings entangled too far already?

I seriously fell head over heels in love with this book. After finishing the first novel in this series I already liked Roman and was looking forward to reading his story. It was not a disappointment and I believe that I may have preferred this book over its predecessor. Right from the start I was pulled into the storyline and I couldn't put it down.

Bridgette is such a great character. She is nothing like Charlotte but that is a great thing. Bridgette has not been hardened by the world and she has a vulnerability. Everyone knows how much I love a tough kick-ass heroine but it is so important to have a heroine that has weaknesses and is vulnerable as well and I think it's something that a lot of readers tend to forget about. Having a character that is very vulnerable allows you more room for character development and growth and Janelle most definitely took advantage of this and the way she made Bridgette the way she is showed just how cleverly planned out this book is. Bridgette definitely goes on a journey thoroughout the book and by the end of the book she is still true to herself and still has that softness but she's a lot more capable and kick-ass. The best thing about this is that we get to experience the things that make her this way with her rather than coming into the story with her already being toughened. I adored that about this book.

Masked was a fantastic journey and I genuinelly loved every single moment of it. Janelle Stalder is definitely one of my favourite authors of all time and there is nothing that this woman can write that I won't devour. If you haven't yet started this series I urge you to do so immediately. You won't be disappointed. This is a fantastic, fast-paced, action-packed and romance-filled dystopia series that is most definitely up there as one of the best in the genre. I loved it.

"You've got me completely at your mercy. My heart, my body, my spirit belongs to you now."

From Goodreads:
Teresa Hamilton is having a rough year—she’s in love with her big brother’s best friend, but he hasn’t spoken to her since they shared a truly amazing, mind-blowing, change-your-life kiss. She got out of a terrible relationship. And now an injury is threatening to end her dance career for good. It’s time for Plan B – college. And maybe a chance to convince Jase that what they have together is real.

Jase Winstead has a huge secret that he’s not telling anyone. Especially not his best friend’s incredibly beautiful sister. Even though he and Teresa shared the hottest kiss of his life, he knows that his responsibilities must take priority. He certainly doesn’t have time for a relationship. But it doesn’t help that all he can think about kissing the one girl who could ruin everything for him.

As they’re thrown together more and more, Jase and Tess can’t keep denying their feelings for each other. But a familiar danger looms and tragedy strikes. As the campus recovers, the star-crossed couple must decide what they’re willing to risk to be together, and what they’re willing to lose if they’re not…

"God, Tess, there isn't a part of you that's not perfect in my eyes."

It's no secret to anybody that Jennifer L Armentrout is my hero. She is my favourite author of all time and nobody could ever compare to her and her books, nor replace the special place that she has in my heart. I have been dying... and I mean DYING to get my hands on this book for what feels like forever. I fell head over heels in love with Wait For You, her first attempt at NA and it still remains one of the best books I have ever read. Although I wanted more Cam and Avery I was super excited to get my hands on Jase and Tess' story and my goodness it did not disappoint. I loved every single second of it.

Tess has been in love with Jase since like forever. And she can't stop thinking about him since their first kiss a year ago. The problem? Jase is Tess' older brother, Cam's best friend and there are lines that Jase is not willing to cross no matter what he feels. But when they reconnect at the same college sparks fly. Can Tess convince Jase to give their relationship a chance? Or is there something else in the way... something bigger than Tess being Cam's little sister that is stopping Jase?

I love love loved this book. I loved the glimpse of Jase and Tess that we saw in Wait For You and I remember emailing Jen going so you're writing Jase and Tess' story right? I couldn't wait for them to get their happy ending and even though it was one hell of an emotional journey I loved every single second of it.

Tess is such an awesome character to live through. She has been through so much to get to this point, overcoming an abusive relationship when she was sixteen and even though it may not be in the same way heroines from supernatural and paranormal books are she is just as kick-ass because of how incredibly strong she is. I just loved her.

One thing you come to know from a JLA book is that she pours her heart and soul into her work and it shows. I can no longer read one JLA book without being in tears at least once. They are just so real and emotional and hit you hard where it hurts... but no matter what you can count on all the hurt and emotional trauma worth it because she knows what she is doing and she knows her readers and what they want. She is the perfect author and nobody could ever beat her in my eyes. She may smash my heart into smithereens but she slowly picks those pieces up and starts slowly sewing them back together.

Be With Me is everything I expected and more. It's such a surprising book with a twist I never saw coming. I was literally left speechless going hold on what? This is what JLA is perfect at! I loved every single second of it and I cannot wait to read her next book. Whatever it is I will be devouring it in hours as I always do. She is the literary queen and she is just amazing. Roll on Stay with Me!

"And I'm more than willing to spend the rest of my life making it up to you, because I love you, Tess. I am so fucking in love with you in a way I've never loved someone before."

And just because here are some more quotes...

"Ovaries go boom."

"I don't care if you did follow him. And I'm happy that you did."

"I want you to be with me."

Camp Payback (Camp Boyfriend #2)
JK Rock

Published By: Spencer Hill Contemporary
Publication Date: April 2014
Genre: YA - Contemporary Romance
 photo goodreads-badge-add-plus-d700d4d3e3c0b346066731ac07b7fe47_zps3cd819f5.png

From Goodreads:
Alex has big plans for camp this year, starting with making it the best summer ever. Having fun and breaking some rules will get her the payback she wants against her parents and her ex-boyfriend. Because of his disgusting texts, she's headed to a super strict all-girls school in the fall. Then she meets Javier and revenge doesn't seem nearly as important as getting to know the troubled loner determined to keep a low profile at camp. But Alex's trouble-magnet personality and Javier's need to stay in the background don't mix nearly as well as their irresistible chemistry. With her home life eroding under her feet and her last year of summer camp speeding to a close, Alex wants to make her mark on the world and squeeze every bit of fun out of her time with Javier. Too bad her old plans for revenge turn back on her just in time to ruin everything. Will she lose Javier too?

I loved the first book in this series. It was fresh and new and I loved experiencing 'Camp' through the book. Here in the UK Camp isn't such a big thing so it was like experiencing it all for the first time as it's something that I haven't really done. Add that to the fact that JK Rock's writing style is totally fresh and funny I can't wait to get my hands on the next book in the series.

Early Review: The Secret Diamond Sisters (The Secret Diamond Sisters #1)

The Secret Diamond Sisters (The Secret Diamond Sisters #1)
Michelle Madow

Published By: Harlequin Teen
Publication Date: February 25, 2014
Date Read: February 8, 2014
Genre: YA - Contemporary Romance
Source: Review Copy from Harlequin Teen and Netgalley
Format: eARC
 photo goodreads-badge-add-plus-d700d4d3e3c0b346066731ac07b7fe47_zps3cd819f5.png

From Goodreads:
Savannah. Courtney. Peyton.

The three sisters grew up not knowing their father and not quite catching a break. But it looks like their luck is about to change when they find out the secret identity of their long-lost dad—a billionaire Las Vegas hotel owner who wants them to come live in a gorgeous penthouse hotel suite. Suddenly the Strip's most exclusive clubs are all-access, and with an unlimited credit card each, it should be easier than ever to fit right in. But in a town full of secrets and illusion, fitting in is nothing compared to finding out the truth about their past.

I have some pretty mixed feelings about this book. The Secret Diamond Sisters was the first book I have read from Michelle Madow and she really impressed me with her storytelling and writing style. It was incredibly easy to fall into the story and that's just the kind of book I like. Something that just makes you forget everything but the story and that's what this book did.

Savanna, Courtney and Peyton have grown up with next to nothing for their whole life. Suddenly they are thrust into a world of glamour and money. Secrets and lies. Finding out that their father is a millionnaire in Vegas they are shipped off to live with him and their whole life changes.

I really enjoyed the storyline and it was really unique and different from any other YA novel that I have come across. I enjoyed reading from all of the sisters perspectives and Michelle really showcased her talent for writing here. A lot of the time with books where we have multiple perspectives, particularly perspectives of more than two characters I start getting confused and having a moment where I'm like okay who is talking here? and having to go back to the beginning of the chapter to find out. You do not have this problem in this book. Michelle really shows how multiple point of views should be done. She excels at this and is really in-tune with all of her characters and gives them such different voices that you always know who is talking and telling the story. I was very impressed with her incredible talent.

I really loved the storyline of having these three downtown girls thrown into such a high society and it was entertaining to read. However I started to get a little bit more disappointed when the story truly turned into being all about the romance. There is such potential for a fantastic storyline that could keep you on the edge of your seat wondering what was going to happen right the way through. It started this way and I loved it. I loved the twists and turns and the secrets but when it turned all about the romance I started slowing down with my reading and going days without picking it up again.

The Secret Diamond Sisters has incredible potential to be a phenomenal unputdownable series but I just didn't connect all that much after the focus came purely on the romance. Michelle Madow blew me away with her talent of writing and I will most definitely be picking up her other series. I see a lot of potential with this series and I will be looking out for the sequel but I am a little disappointed and I have hopes that we will focus more on a storyline in the follow up.

I Still Haven't Read...

This week's pick...

Angel Trilogy by LA Weatherly:

#1 Angel (Already Read)
#2 Angel Fire (Already Read)
#3 Angel Fever

I read the first two of this trilogy as they came out and they are definitely my favourite angel series of all time. The angels are evil in this series so I find that awesome. I loved the first two and I don't really have a reason as to why I haven't read the final one yet. I can't wait to read it.

Have you read this series?
